Childhood Horrors
As a kid, we had horror movie related stuff everywhere. Halloween was very popular. The right-wing nutjobs hadn’t decided it was evil yet. Most every cereal box had something monster related inside as the toy surprise. I remember Universal Monster characters on glow-in-the-dark plastic busts, Basil Golgos Posters, and records with horror stories right on the back of the cereal boxes! In fact think the records and the posters were glow-in-the-dark too! Horror movies were on TV every afternoon and Aurora model kits featured all the classic B&W monster movie moments. Needless to say, I love B&W horror movies. I would get up extra early to see the horror movies that started on weekends in the middle of the night. I could catch the last one at 6:00 am before Speed Racer came on.
This Frankie is just for fun.

The Phantom
I love Chaney’s Phantom and have loved it since I was a kid. We watched this on 16mm at home with accompanying organ music. I got to see a number of silent films on film as a kid because the library would loan them out and a projector as well. I thought King Kong was a silent film because the version we borrowed was the library’s short, silent version.

Some Dinosaurs for my friend’s children to color.
O.K. More drawings will be posted ore frequently.
Just got some decent quality art board. I mostly use cheapo typing paper. This better paper tightens up my inking a bit.
Is This Tomorrow???
ITT will return soon. We are going to be in a new format with color. It will be a continuing series with a cast of characters. It will be strange and darly humorous, but less of a free for all like the previous ITT. It will be simpler and more structured. Most of the reason for this is my hand injury pain. Drawing longer than 15 minutes requires 15 minutes of rest. Driving and drumming aggrivates this condition. The new strip will require less work on my part as you will understand once you see it. I appreciate my writing and graphics partner, Kelly Shane, being so understanding with my physical limitations and working around them. I hope you will enjoy the “New Direction” of Is This Tomorrow. Look for it soon!
Jill Carrol-I’m glad she is home.
In a war with few heroes and full of lies, Jill Carrol was a hero. She was tough, brave, and most certainly unjustly kidnapped. I was following her story, and I am very glad she was returned safely as a person who was a friend of the Iraqi people. He story is truly harrowing. Begging to be shot and not beheaded, meeting 5 year old islamic militants, assuming she was going to be killed at any moment… After learning that the governments “heroes” were stories fabricated to cover friendly fire, or just plain ol’ BS, I’m glad to hear some good news from the war.
